5 Features to Look for When Buying Cat Nets

About Me
Industrial and Manufacturing in the Modern World

Yo! My name is Ira. Welcome to my cool new blog. The articles on this blog will address the subject of industrial and manufacturing in the modern world. This is a subject I am very familiar with, despite the fact that I have never worked in the industry. I grew up in a household in which my dad and my older brother both worked in the industrial and manufacturing sector. As a child, I learnt all kinds of very cool things while talking to my dad and accompanying him on 'take your kid to work' days. In adulthood, I have maintained a keen interest in the sector.

You want to give your cat the best life possible by letting her outside, but unfortunately, outdoor cats live an average of two to five years, while indoor cats live 17 or more. Luckily, there is a way you can give your cat outdoor access without risking its safety — a cat net. When shopping for cat nets, consider looking for the following features.

1. Designed for Cats

Keep in mind that you can't just use any net. Your cat may be able to scratch or bite through some nets. To stay on the safe side, you should order a net that is expressly designed for cats. If you are concerned about bird populations, you may also want to look for netting that keeps birds out. Then, you don't have to worry about your cat eating a bird.

Note that if you have pet birds, you may want to buy bird netting for them. Just as there is netting to keep birds out, there is also netting to keep birds in.

2. UV Resistant

As the netting it going outside, it's going to have a lot of exposure to the sun. To ensure it stands the test of time, you need to choose netting that is UV resistant. Ideally, you should see if the manufacturer has tested the netting and if they can give you an estimation of how long it's going to last.

3. Marine-Grade Metal

The netting has elements that are going to connect it to poles or land. Obviously, you don't want these elements rusting or degrading either. To ensure they can withstand the test of time, you should look for marine-grade metal. If you live near the sea, this is especially important. The air tends to be saltier in your area, and to withstand corrosion, marine-grade metal is the best option.

4. Discreet

If you don't want your yard to look like it's covered in netting, you may want to look for cat nets that have been designed to be nearly invisible to the naked eye. This discreet netting lets you give your cats freedom without sacrificing the look of your yard.

5. The Right Size

Finally, when you find the right pet nets, you need to think about size. You may want a small catio outside a window. You may want a tunnel that runs through your whole yard. You may want just a corner of your yard netted. Ultimately, you need a net size that works with your goal.
